Ancient Comments on the Judgment
Disengagement: non-human; not favorable for the superior man’s perseverance. The great go out, the small come in. This is heaven and earth not interacting, so the myriad things do not communicate; upper and lower not interacting, so there are no states under heaven. Inside yin and outside yang, inside soft and outside hard, inside petty men and outside superior men; the way of the petty man grows, the way of the superior man declines.
