Yi Jing — The Book of Changes

Lines are based on the following:

• Line 1 (bottom): the number of words
• Line 2: the number of letters
• Line 3: the number of consonants
• Line 4: the number of vowels (a e i o u)
• Line 5: the number of y's and w's
• Line 6 (top): sum of index of all letters (A=1, B=2...)

Take those numbers and re-wrap every 8: 0, 1, 2, 3 ... 7, 0, 1, 2.

• odds are yang, evens are yin
• 0 is old yin
• 7 is old yang

The idea is that the math is easy enough to do in your head, but hard enough to keep track of. Your subconscious mind can do it as you type, letting your own mind absentmindedly participate in the reading.

Pour your heart out, finish with a clear Yi Jing question, and edit until the words sit right. Then generate the reading.
